Glow - the national intranet

Preparation is underway within Fife to rollout glow to Fife schools.

At present staff from Fife, Pearson e1 and glow are working to create user accounts for both staff and pupils in Fife schools.

Staff will be provided with access via a Fife portal to national groups such as curriculum for excellence, headteacher forums and national subject groups with pupil access available following this assimilation period at a date still to be determined.

Access to the various glow parts (there are 12 separate parts) will depend on a number of factors including available bandwidth and cpd therefore it is expected that the different glow features will be introduced as and when they are capable of being run efficiently over the Fife network which will be dependent on future bandwidth improvements.

Once these accounts are in place schools will be notified via FISH news updates and direct links to glow will be placed on FISH and on the various Fife Education learning and teaching sites.
