Religious and Moral Education
St. Agatha's Primary, Leven
In the 'features of effective learning and teaching in religious and moral education' in the principles and practice of RME, we are told that
- "in planning learning and teaching in religious and moral education, teachers will be able to: make appropriate and imaginative use of technology".
In addition ICT should be able to contribute to other strands:
- "encourage the development of enquiry and critical thinking skills" and "create opportunities for the development of problem solving skills".
- Also "active learning approaches, including collaborative learning, will encourage children and young people to discuss and share ideas, experiences and moral challenges in a variety of ways, as well as develop skills for life and work such as communication, working with others and problem solving" for which ICT should offer some help
There are no direct references to ICT or other technologies in the experiences and outcomes.
The full Religious and Moral Education Outcomes are available from the national site.
