Fife schools are very active users of glow, the Scottish education intranet.

In fact a growing number have featured in the Glow Cookbook pages highlighting their work.

(Note a glow username is needed to access the content held within glow itself.)

Cookbooks have been developed by :

Duloch, Lynburn, Touch and Wellwood primary schools

Glenwood and St. Andrew's high schools.

Fife schools are very active users of glow and the Study Support and Fife Roots pages introduce two major sections designed for Fife pupils.

In the 2011/2012 academic year e-portfolios are being introduced to S1 pupils initially followed by P6/7 pupils across Fife.

Each week a Top Ten list of the most active glow groups is uploaded to a special section of glow and the Glow Stats page in this site offers a snapshot of this activity.

In September 2011 the Scottish Education Cabinet Secretary announced that the tender for Glow Futures was being withdrawn and consultation begun on seeking an Open Source solution. Please refer to the TES article and to the You Tube video.

Information will be added here as it becomes available once it is clear what type of intranet will be implemented in September 2012. The aim is to modernise glow to take on board the best new web tools some of which have been incorporated into the present version in the past year; namely blowgs and wikis.

Fife Education has its own Open Source and Freeware website.
