- advice and sharing best practice in using ICT across the curriculum.
Fife Education has for over 5 years worked with the Radiowaves online site to develop our own audio and video podcast stations for every one of our priamry and secondary schools.
This activity has proved to be invaluable in addressing the four capacities of the Curriculum for Excellence, enhancing our pupils' ICT skills and using ICT across the curriculum.
The site is moderated and offers up to date web tools in a safe, secure environment. It is a service we continue to use even though glow, the national intranet, offers some of the same tools now this has only happened inthe past year so we will continue to use Radiowaves for the reasons cited above.
The Four Capacities of the CfE Successful Learners "Radiowaves encourages pupils to communicate effectively with their peers, adults and of course their audience. It is active learning in practice. C Parkyn, class teacher
Confident Individuals "When I move to secondary school I'm definitely going to keep using Radiowaves because it is a good way of fitting in to class." Pupil "Pupils can be creative and work in ways that suits their learning style." Michelle Adamsom, Radiowaves Scotish School Manager |

There are now 155 Fife schools engaged in Radiowaves activities. They upload their audio podcasts to a safe environment and we have a growing number of contributors: - the October 2011 snapshot shows this clearly!
