Fife's Community Safety Panels, Fife Police, Adam Smith College and the Fife Education Service are launching a competition to create a storyboard on the theme of “Stop Vandalism in your Community”.
This competition is open to all Primary 6 and Primary 7 pupils in Fife’s primary schools
Vandalism is damage or destruction to someone else’s property and creates a negative impression in your community. If left, it can often lead to more vandalism occurring.
Think about:
- How does it make you feel?
- How does it affect your school?
- How does it affect your community?
- Who pays for it?
- Where does the money come from?
What are we looking for?
We are looking for storyboard entries that are innovative, and original, and that help people to think about what vandalism means to them and how they can stop vandalism in their community.To find out more please visit the Creating a storyboard page on this site.
Who can enter?
The competition is open to all Primary 6 and 7 pupils in Fife.
What will you win?
Winning entries from each Community Safety Area will receive a Crazy Talk Licence for their school.
Community Safety Areas are:
- Glenrothes
- Kirkcaldy
- Cowdenbeath
- South West Fife Villages
- Dunfermline
- North East Fife
- Levenmouth
The overall winner will be selected from the finalists and will receive a Nintendo Wii for their school and a Kindle for themselves. Adam Smith College will also work with the winner to have their storyboard turned into an animation.
When is the deadline?
The deadline for all entries is Friday 20 April 2012 , so there’s plenty of time to become involved. Entries will be judged at the local level by the Community Safety Panel who will select 3 short listed entries to put forward for their Area. A finalist will then be selected from each Area to attend an Awards Ceremony at the Auchterderran Centre on Thursday 21 June when the overall winner will be announced.
