Why was this work undertaken?

To develop the children's awareness of "Primary Colours" and their ability to effectively control the mouse to create a variety of pictures using various art tools.

 

How was it developed?

Using Environmental Studies as the stimulus, the children primarily created models or pictures using a variety of media and techniques. They then re-created their pictures on the PC using the art tools available on "Primary Colours" which was further developed by incorporating text into their work through labelling/writing.

What was the impact on pupils' learning?
They have become very confident in using art software and are highly motivated where using art programmes, as it allows them to experience an entirely different type of art media. The children are also constantly improving eye/hand control.

 

What was the impact of teaching strategies?
It has enabled the children to appreciate the role of ICT in fostering their creativity.
