Robert Henryson School caters for those pupils who have the most profound and complex learning needs. Most cannot speak. Most are non-ambulant with minimal movement: perhaps an arm or fingers. Many have partial sight or are registered blind. Some have reduced hearing.

Robert Henryson school staff is committed to our senior pupils having full and equal access to the appropriate 14+ curriculum.

Our Senior School pupils all have Individual Education Programmes with Communication and Language Targets specific to the assessed needs of the individual. Most of these targets are met within the National Qualifications: Access Curriculum. Without the technology available today our pupils would be at a severe disadvantage in terms of meeting their entitlement to curriculum. Success within the National Qualifications framework is assured at whatever level the pupil is involved because of the dedication to inventive use of technology to meet the needs of the pupils and the demands of the course.
