Pupils are able to show evidence of their work in an attractive layout.

Why was this work undertaken?

The work has been part of the senior class communication and language programme over the last few years. Some of the work done met the performance criteria for 'English & Communication: language Study- Conveying Information in Writing (Access 1).

a. information is accurate and relevant to the purpose of the communication
b. the communication is appropriate and comprehensible to the reader

so this year we are presenting three pupils for this module.

How was it developed?

Over time it has developed to fit in with individual pupils abilities/needs/targets and the class theme.
What was the impact on pupils' learning? Because we have concentrated on small area of the curriculum - experiencing /working /learning the same basic principals in various guises - the pupils knowledge has been consistently reinforced. Much of the work has ended up with an attractive piece of work at the end therefore the pupils have something to show for their hard work.

What was the impact of teaching strategies?

It has helped us to focus on a small aspect of communication and language. Covering many aspects and reinforcing them in different ways.

Hardware/software requirements and useful linked websites.

Much of our work is done using floppy disks and word processing on the computer. The computer allows the pupil to independently achieve an attractive end product.
