The computer is linked by a MIDI interface to an electronic keyboard
so, right from the start, pupils are "laying tracks",
ie playing in tunes and adding different harmony lines such as piano,
flute, bass guitar etc.
Another advantage this software offers is that pupils do not need
to be able to write music, only to be able to play. Up until recently,
only the keyboard could be used but now other instruments such as
electric guitars can be used to feed directly into the computer
to lay what is known as Audio tracks.
This is a most valuable resources to any Music department and I'm
sure the results speak for themselves.
