Why was this work undertaken?

To allow pupils to use the Internet and to have reports produced on a word processor.

How was it developed?

In the past, the class used traditional textbook supplemented with other library books; no time was set aside to access the Internet both in the classroom and in the ICT Centre.

What was the impact on pupils' learning?

Impact was very strong; pupils found the Internet easy to use and attractively presented material. Typing in of key words, eg rationing, produced a lot of information. A lot of pride in high quality reports.

What was the impact of teaching strategies?

Teachers could now blend traditional practices with modern technology opportunities to work together. Pupil's able to reproduce excellent visual material eg ration books.
