The power of the
sea is obvious in this image. The cliffs at Charlestown close up
shows how the cliff is undercut by the action of the sea. The rock
splits along weak points - the joints in this sedimentary rock and
large chunks fall off to be eroded and washed away. The different
colour is a good indication of the High Water Mark. |
