Cormorants at home on Filey's cliffs. This close up view of the steep cliffs just north of Filey show the horizontal layers of sedimentary rock have been eroded by the sea. The large bounders on the shore are remnants fallen from the cliff. Cormorants nest on the very narrow ledges well above the high water mark. These cliffs are also home to many breeds of gull including guillemots.
