| Glen
Lochay |
Glen Lochay, looking
east from the top of Ben Challum. This valley contrasts with the
more fertile and lower lying Strath
Fillan. This typical U-shaped valley is almost devoid of cultivated
land and the mis-fit stream meanders across the wide valley bottom.
The foreground drops away for almost a 1000 feet in a near vertical
incline. Isolated shelter belts are the only break in the rough
grazing land until, in the distance, the level drops to a few cultivated
fields a few miles from Killen and Loch Tay. |
