Kar2ouche - bring topics to life

Every Scottish school received a copy of Tam O'Shanter direct from LT Scotland and this will allow teachers to see how the software works and realise the potential of titles with content specific to their syllabus.

There are titles available for most curricular areas.

Biology, Chemistry and Physics teachers could consider the titles summarised below.

Earth and the Environment

The structure of the Earth has been unknown until relatively recently and Earth and the Environment looks at the development of geology as a science, in particular the work of Alfred Wegener and how his ideas were initially rejected. The story then continues to cover the development of the modern theory of plate tectonics. It then moves on to look at the ways we gather information about the planet we live on and the difficulties of predicting geological events such as earthquakes. The second part of the CD looks at the many environmental issues that confront us: for example, global warming and the depletion of the ozone layer.
