Up to date science ideas well illustrated by the BBC programme Tomorrow's World
This program contains more than 100 illustrations of the human body with animations, very good for science.
Lots of links to other sites, including a very good range of Biology links for the 5 - 14 content
A suite of lessons with animation on forces for use in a 5 -14 course
Good for early forces and motion work - may be used with younger children.

Zephyrus provides facts and quizzes for many topics in Biology, Physics and Chemistry at a level appropriate to S1/2. Good.

Standard Grade
A 'hit parade' of good popular school websites to visit - very worthwhile checking regularly for updated materials.
Astronomical Pictures and Animations is a WWW page which houses a vast collection of photographs and motion picture files of astronomy subjects. Files of eclipses, the planets in the solar system and their moons, space missions such as the Apollo and Space Shuttle projects, and images from many telescopes such as the Hubble space telescope Space Physics

Channel 4 Science is a biggish site. Changes with the programmes to be broadcast.

Higher
Website for Higher and Advanced Higher students, with links to other animated applet sites.
Lots and lots of good applets covering Higher and Standard Grade
Good for Higher Physics, with a forum page that kids can use at home to help answer problems and overcome difficulties.
Jasvascript simulations on force, work, tension, torque, projectile, momentum, electricity, or kinematics. Then connect to a simulation of that physics subject.

This website must be used for the Higher Unit 3, it is excellent on line spectra
Good on atomic structure, lissajous figures for Higher.
