Designed for staff wishing to use a selection of software to create exercises which can sit on school or council servers and be accessed by pupils.
The first session will introduce SpellMaster and will invite participants to create a word bank with associated descriptions and to test and refine the 4 interactive games created using the same word bank. Please refer to http://www.fife-education.org.uk/socsub/Interactive/GeogMenu.htm for 4 sample files.
The second and third sessions will use Hot Potatoes software to create crosswords, cloze procedures, drag and drop, multiple choice, jumbled sentences and short answer quizzes. The finished files are converted to web pages and have a built-in error-checking feature. Sample files are located at http://www.fife-education.org.uk/socsub/Interactive/HotPotatoes.htm and http://www.fife-education.org.uk/socsub/Interactive/HistMenu.htm.
Teachers are expected to bring ideas and pre-prepared questions to these sessions.
Depending on the applications received it might be possible to group participants by primary and by secondary subject (or faculty) in order to share ideas and maximise the output from these sessions.
