Vision/Mission Statement
Schools are required to develop a Mission Statement and embed this statement in the School Aims. This is a sample Mission Statement that you may wish to adapt to suit your school’s requirements.

“Learning and Health go hand in hand. Good health of children and young people is a prerequisite for educational achievement. Good health of teachers is important to the development of effective schools. Health promoting schools aim at empowering students, staff and parents to actively influence their lives and their living conditions.”

(Educational & Health in Partnership
European Conference 2002)

Our school wants to promote the health of young people and all staff within it and to play our part in promoting health of the community. To achieve this, we will actively encourage the whole school to increase responsibility for and improve your health.

We recognise that health has many aspects – physical, social, spiritual, mental and emotional and we will promote health by considering the impact on health of all that we do as a school through our:
  • Leadership and Management
  • Ethos
  • Partnership Working
  • Curriculum Teaching and Learning
  • Personal, Social and Health Education Programmes
  • Environment, Resources and Facilities
