Twilight Sessions: Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act 2007

Twilight Sessions: Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act 2007The Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act 2007 (the Act) has implications for the whole school community. It also impacts on Fife’s Health promoting Schools Framework which is currently being reviewed to bring it in line with the Curriculum for Excellence Health & Wellbeing Experiences and Outcomes.

With all these changes and developments it is an ideal time to bring together School Health Co-ordinators, Hungry for Success/Hospitality Co-ordinators and School Health Staff so that we might develop a clearer and shared understanding of the implications.

The sessions will run on the following dates in the Auchterderran Centre from 4pm-5.30pm:

  • Tuesday 26 th May at 4pm
  • Thursday 28 th May at 4pm

The aim of the twilight session will be to raise awareness of the Act and the developments of the next Phase for Fifes Health Promoting Schools (HPS) Framework.

The twilight session will also provide an ideal opportunity to support Education School Health Co-ordinators, Hungry for Success/Hospitality Co-ordinators and School Health Staff in taking forward their contribution to implementing the Act and Fifes HPS Framework.

To provide an overview of the Act, a representative from HMIe Health and Nutrition Inspectorate will be presenting aspects of the Act, nutritional regulations and outlining the inspection process.
