E-Learning and Teaching Development Plan 2005/2006
The e-learning and teaching development plan 2005/2006 has six targets for the session.
  • To update the Internet Policy for schools last issued in Spring 2002.
  • To improve communications with Education Service staff in order to share good practice and to keep staff informed of developments involving ICT learning and teaching and in administration.
  • To encourage all Pre-Five sector staff to participate in Early Years ICT training.
  • To promote the use of online questionnaires such as PICO (or its FISH equivalent) and the Matrix (from Becta) to assess pupils' ICT skills and schools' ICT development plans respectively.
  • To prepare the way for the arrival of content on the Scottish Schools Digital Network by examining the likely content and deciding on which aspects should be promoted in Fife and in which order, for example pupil-friendly e-mail for younger pupils (pre-secondary).
  • To introduce a Fife-wide tracking system to monitor and analyse pupil progress.
Progress has been made on all six targets with information contained on targets 1 and 3 held on this website, target 2 being promoted on this new website, target 4 underway in a large number of schools, target 5 in preparation and dependent on national developments and target 6 has resulted in a Fife launch in June 2005.
