The budget for this three-year programme is coming to an end in June of this year. Although a large number of staff have received training in their own establishment the Early Years ICT team are planning a series of training days throughout the summer term to cover as many staff as possible. These will take place on a weekly basis in the Auchterderran Centre and on other dates in Early Years establishments across Fife .Each day will operate as two sessions from 1.30 – 3.00 and from 3.30 – 5.00 p.m. At least two Early Years trainers will be available to deliver training on equipment, answer questions, share ideas, and give advice on how to use ICT in Early Years settings.
The training available will be on Digital Animation and QX5 Microscopes and Moviemaker, SmartBoard (interactive white board plus an evaluation of Pre-Five software) and programmable toys which participants can choose on arrival. Staff will also be directed to online training opportunities using Microsoft Office products on the FISH NET service.
It is important that as many Early Years staff as possible can access this training as this is an area of the curriculum which is increasingly important and has become the focus for HMIE visits.
The training dates are listed below, Digital Video has not been included here but can be run separately on demand.
