Search Tips - Secrets of Successful Searching
  1) Keep it simple.
When entering a search string, the best results are usually obtained if you enter just one word. Try to use the least common word, i.e., avoid using words like "The" "and" "a", which will produce hundreds (if not thousands) of search results. At the risk of repetition, avoid using "the" in a search string.

  2) Avoid words containing punctuation.
The search engine does not deal well with words containing hypens or periods. For example, if searching for L. A. Confidential, it would be best to simply type "confidential". (The case of letters is unimportant: "Confidential" is treated the same as "confidential").
