Information taken from the Jet propulsion website. The few sample files included here are part of a collection of 266 images and associated descriptions, many of which are very useful to Geography classwork or private teacher study.

This fascinating view from space of a piedmont glacier in Alaska shows the distinctive features associated with a valley glacier as it spreads out onto a wide plain. Compare this view with the French Alps collection in the Image Bank.
