Many young people encounter some form of learning need at some time during their educational

experience. Some will overcome this challenge quite quickly while others may encounter difficulties

and will require particular support over the years. For these young people requiring additional

support the department takes a holistic approach, focusing specifically on communication, social

and emotional needs and life skills as well as the formal curriculum.

The department is newly built comprising of: 7 classrooms, a life skills area, a general purpose

area, internal playground and Gym.

There are no more than 10 pupils in each class.

The department has 2 Principal Teachers, 11 Teachers and 27 Pupil Support Assistants.
